Carmanah Technologies Corporation and Globalstar, Inc. are proud to announce Globalstar’s newest satellite device, the SmartOne Solar™. Globalstar will be unveiling the SmartOne Solar at GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas in partnership with CTIA, to be held September 12–14 in San Francisco. Connected to the Globalstar satellite network, the solar-powered SmartOne Solar is a low maintenance, intelligent device that provides remote monitoring and tracking for valuable assets.

The SmartOne Solar will help companies manage and track remotely located assets through configurable reporting. Potential industries include transportation, construction, commercial marine, surface mining, forestry, and more. Users can select data elements and triggers, such as motion detection, geofencing, speed and heading, and more to help monitor assets remotely in near-real time. The long-lasting battery can store enough power for the device to transmit data twice a day for six months without any sunlight.

Carmanah signed a strategic agreement with Globalstar in August 2016 to integrate solar technology with Globalstar-connected devices, with the goal to increase battery life and data transmission. Using their design and manufacturing services, Carmanah aims to help clients enhance a new or existing device, and potentially be first to market in their industry with new technology.
